XI Nevsky International Ecological Congress

The event was attended by Regina Rudakova, General Manager of COATI Representative, Head of the Russian Representative Office of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Oman, member of the Russian-Omani Business Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

As part of the main stated theme of the congress on the development of ecological tourism as a tool for nature conservation, on May 22, 2025, Regina Rudakova made a presentation on the preservation of the natural, historical and cultural heritage of the Sultanate of Oman.

During her presentation, she highlighted the importance of the Sultanate of Oman's rich cultural heritage, which is its distinctive feature and sets the country apart from other States in the Middle East. As part of the implementation of the Oman Vision 2040 concept, the Government is taking measures to develop infrastructure and implement initiatives aimed at sustainable development. In particular, investment activities are carried out in the field of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power plants.

Regina Rudakova also highlighted the diversity of Oman's landscapes, including wadis, pristine beaches, mountains, islands, caves and springs. The climatic conditions range from the hot humid coast to the mild mountainous region and the monsoon season in Dhofar. The country's legislation provides for measures to protect the environment and wildlife. Oman has more than twenty nature reserves and protected areas, and there is a ban on hunting cattle, allowing for the preservation of unique species. An equally important factor is the active participation of the Omanis themselves in preserving their heritage. It is still impossible to see high-rise buildings in the country: their construction is prohibited in order to preserve the historical appearance. This approach serves as a powerful impetus for the further sustainable development of the country.

In conclusion, the report noted that Oman's rich historical and cultural heritage, combined with modern initiatives for sustainable development, creates a solid foundation for the country's continued prosperity in the international arena.
